| Straight ahead or pose to pose methods of animation: Straight ahead animation refers to the method of animating without the use of key frames to plan the movements. Therefore the action is produced by eliminating the previous frame to produce the next. This method is used commonly in the production of pixilation animation and stop motion .As expected, this method demands careful planning prior to the shooting to obtain a smooth process. Jan Svankmejer: Meat Love: Here the method of straight ahead is present throughout different shots that last for a few seconds. this allows the viewer to keep engaged on what is happening. It also allows for better management over the action that is being recorded. Javier Gonzalez: Duck and chicken: In this exercise I was able to shoot from beginning to end without any complications, after planning the action thoroughly. Pose to pose method: this method of animation is often used when producing 2d and similar processes since the animator can produce the key frames or “poses” and then produce “in-betweens” to tie the action together. It allows the animator to produce other effects with ease like boils and so forth. Glen Keane: Tarzan. the use of poses and in betweens was vital to capture the complex actions of the characters. Collaborative exercise: Morphing shapes: A collaborative effort with the help of other students were we all created a series of shapes that morphed. We used the in betweens and poses to make the shapes morph. |
